I Was Featured In The WriteGirl Newsletter!

It’s always wonderful to be recognized by your beloved community! Recently, I was spotlighted in WriteGirl’s impactful newsletter. The newsletter features some of my earliest thoughts about the writing program when I joined in high school! I’m wowed by my own words as it’s a reminder to keep moving forward. This feature couldn’t have happened at a more perfect time as in 2020 I am planning to release a collection of poems, short stories and so much more that I’ve been working hard on in 2019. Like teenage Kai said, “WriteGirl really taught me that when it comes to my art and the things that I love, I should just share it.”

I had very special moments in 2019 thanks to leaning back into my WriteGirl family, such as going to their amazing Lights, Camera, WriteGirl. I’m so grateful for their continued support. The non-profit organization is all about encouraging the fearless voices of young girls. Their empowering work has been mentioned in The Hollywood Reporter, LA Weekly. Also, WriteGirl was honored by First Lady Michelle Obama with the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award. You can support WriteGirl by donating and subscribing to their newsletter!
