Create A Perfect Lipstick At The Lip Lab By Bite

I wanted to do something special yet simple and chic with my friends to celebrate my birthday this year. I was jumping back and forth between ideas until creating my own lipstick at the Lip Lab By Bite just popped into my head. I’ve been more and more interested in defining my look with beauty products that accentuate what I already have. I’ve always wanted to try the Lip Lab since the location is so close to me in Larchmont, Los Angeles. Recently, when I got the lip gloss called Jicama by Bite I realized just how fantastic their all-natural products are. Not only do they feel good, but they also smell and taste amazing. So you can say Jicama cemented this idea in my head to create my own signature shade. If you are looking for a personalized beauty experience, Lip Lab is the place to go.

The Lip Lab Experience

Essentially, when you arrive at the quaint shop in Larchmont, you can pick a shade, a finish, and a flavor. With my party of six, I sat at their lip bar before a wide selection of lipstick shades. Three of Bite’s talented color artists helped my friends and I, asking us what lipstick shade we were looking for. The artists were so attuned with all the hues that whenever we described a color or look we imagined, they could quickly mix together what we wanted. It mostly took some trial and error, and sharpening of desires and intentions on my part to find the shade I ended up falling in love with. Yet, this made the whole experience ten times better! I truly sculpted the lipstick color I wanted down to the rich hue of lilac to the satin feel.

The moment we sat down, the ladies behind the counter gave us three steps to prep our lips for all the mixing and matching. We wiped off whatever was on our lips before, then put on a tasty lip scrub, before putting on balm-like lip primer. The primer was the goat, making my lips ready to try on multiple shades. The color artist created and saved a few swatches for us. Once we found our signature colors, we picked a scent and then they went on to mix the color with the specific base.

The Final Word

Everyone deserves to feel pampered once and a while. Like the acclaimed Parks and Recreation saying, it’s more than ok to “Treat yo’ self.” Whether you decide to do so with a wonderful LA moment or you want to try something new and different to celebrate your birthday like me. It really doesn’t matter the occasion. When you take time to do nice things for yourself, life feels as sweet as it can possibly be. You remember that you are meant to have fun adventures and that playtime doesn’t have to end in elementary school. I feel so grateful that I was able to treat my friends to this experience. We had such a great time at the Lip Lab By Bite. We expressed ourselves and remembered the valuable truth of treating ourselves.

If you are ready to book an appointment to make your next favorite lipstick, Bite offers three great packages. They have two different “A La Carte” services where you can make either 1 or 2 lipsticks. You can also upgrade the whole experience with their “Bespoke” service for 2 shades of your choosing and extra goodies like the Lip Lab kit. If you aren’t an LA native like me, you can find a LIp Lab near you in San Francisco, New York City, and even Toronto! Enjoy beauty and love yourself and others!
